What started out as a hobby has slowly turned into a thriving business. After experimenting with sourdough breads at home, Heather offered some to a local grocer to try. They were immediately sold and thus the journey began over 4 years ago. From our home based kitchen, Heather has baked breads and pastries for numerous retailers and farm stands since 2017. After reaching the point that there was no more space to service customer demand, the business expanded into a commercial space with a retail storefront in historic Gilbertsville and has become a full-fledged family operation. The retail space offers all of Heather's breads and pastries as well as coffee, breakfast and lunch items. Heather, and her husband Cole, are now both fully involved in running the daily operations of the business. Their FIVE KIDS(including triplets) are happy to assist when they are not enjoying Heather's goodies. All of Five Kids Bakehouse breads and pastries are hand-made. In addition, we source as many local ingredients as possible. We look forward to continuing to provide artisan breads, gourmet pastries, and many other delights for years to come.
